Written by   Name(s) of the scriptwriter(s)
Based on   Title, year of publication, and author(s) of any book or short story the episode may be based upon
Length   Running time of the original episode (unless otherwise noted in the Research Notes section)
Genre(s)   Type of story (eg: sci-fi, horror, mystery, fantasy, etc.)
Produced at   City/CBC facility where the episode was produced
Recording Date(s)   Dates of studio recording
Original CBC AirDate   Date the episode first aired (on the National AM network)
CBC Repeat(s)   Dates of any National AM reruns
CBC FM Repeat   Date of any reruns on the National FM network
Arts National Rebroadcast Date   Date of any rebroadcast on Arts National Presents Friday Night (1983-84) as Nightfall Mystery Theatre
Original NPR Tx Date   Date episode was first transmitted via sattelite to member stations for recording and later playback on their own schedules (when series aired in the U.S. on NPR Playhouse)
NPR Repeat Tx   Date of any repeat sattelite transmission during the Fall 1982, when 13 select episodes were rerun
NPR ID#   NPR's six-digit code number for the episode, made up from the intial transmission date of the show to afilliate stations. It is read as the last two digits of the year, the two-digit month and two-digit date: for example, 820305 would be March 5th, 1982
CBC Tape ID   Product ID for any CBC Enterprises audio cassette release containing the episode
Released   Year of cassette release
Flipside Episode   Title of the episode on the reverse side of the cassette
DH Tape ID   Product ID for any Durkin-Hayes Paperback Audio cassette release containing the episode
ISBN   Ten-digit International Standard Book Number
Released   Year of cassette release
Flipside Episode   Title of the episode on the reverse side of the cassette
Actor   Name of actor
Character   Name of the character(s) played by that actor
Additional Casting Notes   Any additional or unusual casting notes
Announcer   The person who provides the names of the cast and crew at the end of each episode (on some rare occasions this was done by the Host)
Recording Engineer(s)   Responsible for recording live studio sessions, mixing in sound effects and music, and mastering the final recording
Sound Effects   Selects sound effects from library based on director's needs or creates them when necessary
Production Assistant(s)   Takes on a range of responsibilities which vary from producer to producer: may include typing up of scripts, tracking cast and crew time and pay, assisting producer in the studio, may actually direct secondary scenes, or even edit parts of the episode
Story Editor(s)   Charged with screening, tweaking or modifying scripts before and during production
Producer   Serves as producer and director for a given story. Provides overall vision for the story's look and feel
Additional Crew Notes   Any additional or unusual crew notes

Cast/Crew Commentary   Comments from people involved with the show, whether it's the writer or the producer or an actor or the production assistant

  • In some cases it may be an update on where one of the writers or cast members went on to greater fame, or
  • a particularly strong reaction from a fan, or
  • perhaps some mystery surrounding the production or someone involved in it, or
