Fan Review: A sickly and cantankerous old farmer lives alone except for his dog out in the middle of no-where. He has an encounter with a visitor that begins late one evening. Arriving at the farmer's front door with a broken down car, the visitor is unable to get immediate help for his car and he requests to spend the night with the farmer, who reluctantly agrees. The stay lasts a little longer than anticipated when the farmer and the visitor begin to get aquainted. The farmer learns to accept the help that the young visitor offers and even to open up to him as a friend. The farmer even learns to be a little gracious to others when they reach out to him. There is a message in this story about the vulnerability of the very young and the very old to those who are supposed to be in charge of their care. Be careful of the checks you write on the account of life when you are in your prime...you just might have to come up with the funds to cover that check when you are at your weakest.  (Sharon/bestpbx@global.net)
